Sport
& Cooperation Network organizes a football tournament for integration on May
10, starting at 11 and inviting boys and girls from 12 to 16 years old. The
tournament will take place at Universidad Europea de Madrid campus based in Villaviciosa
de Odón (Madrid).
The goal
of the tournament is to promote intercultural integration and to share the
experience among the kids from different background and cultures. Children will
play football in mixed teams and all the attendees will enjoy a friendly day of
football.
This
event is sponsored by a successful crowd funding campaign launched by Red
Deporte y Cooperación in 2013. The event is also sponsored by Real Club
Deportivo Espanyol, Getafe FC and UEFA, all of them have provided the
tournament with sport material.
We
believe this would be a great opportunity for children to meet and play with
other people of same age belonging to different cultures and races. To get to know the great social power of sport, to exchange this experience and
thoughts, to be a part of mixed team, feel the power of togetherness, playing
all for one purpose-to win. To win in the game and not only the game, to get to
know which are the necessary qualities and know-hows, to win in life, all together.
Or sometimes to lose the game and learn from the mistakes. There was a very
famous quote of One the Nobel Prize’s winner Samuel Beckett, which says: Ever
tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
